Smart Modes Site Rules Activity Log
What it does

More control over inactive tabs.

Designed to stay simple: protect the tabs that matter and let inactive tabs sleep automatically.

Automatic sleeping

Choose how long an inactive tab should remain awake before it becomes eligible for sleeping.

Smart memory modes

Balanced, Aggressive, Maximum Savings and Custom modes make it easy to choose your preferred behavior.

Tab manager

See awake and sleeping tabs, inspect inactivity and manually sleep or keep tabs awake.

Site rules

Keep important websites awake or give individual domains their own sleep timeout.

Activity log

See when tabs were slept, restored, skipped or affected by resource limits.

Local by design

No analytics, tracking or external servers. Settings and activity data stay in Firefox.

How it works

A simple tab lifecycle.

When a tab becomes inactive, the manager records when it was last used. Once the configured conditions are met, the eligible tab is discarded from memory. Selecting it again lets Firefox restore the page.

Important: the extension does not impose a hard RAM limit on Firefox. It reduces resource usage by unloading eligible inactive tab content from memory.
